BedDebt keeps a tally. It does not take money. It has no access to your bank, no payment system, and no way to charge you anything. Moving the money to your savings is something you choose to do.
These terms are between you and Winning Beans, based in the United Kingdom. Using BedDebt means accepting them. You must be at least 16.
A self-motivation tool. You set a time to be up by and print a code to put in another room. If you have not scanned it by your deadline, BedDebt starts counting an amount you have decided to owe your own savings.
BedDebt is not your alarm clock. It does not wake you and it must not be relied on to. Use your phone's built-in alarm, which is designed for that job and works through silent mode and Focus. BedDebt only checks that you got up. We are not responsible for anything you miss by oversleeping.
BedDebt is not a medical device and treats nothing. It is not a sleep tracker and gives no health advice. Difficulty getting up can be a symptom of illness, including depression — if that is you, please speak to a GP. An app that charges you is not the right tool, and we would rather say so than take your attention.
You can mark any morning as a rest day, before or afterwards, for up to seven days. It costs nothing, needs no reason, and there is no limit. This is deliberate. Being unwell should never cost you money, and a commitment you cannot step out of is not a commitment, it is a trap.
BedDebt never takes payment, never asks for card details, and has no connection to your bank. Any amount shown is a note-to-self. Whether you move it, where you move it, and whether you move it at all is entirely up to you. We cannot verify it and we do not try.
BedDebt is free. There is no subscription and nothing to buy.
Everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy. Because there is no server, if you lose or wipe your phone, your history is gone and we cannot recover it. Use Settings → Download my data if it matters to you.
Do not use BedDebt to coerce anyone else, or set it up on another person's device to impose penalties on them. It is a tool for making a promise to yourself.
BedDebt is provided as is. It should keep working offline indefinitely once installed, but we do not guarantee it is free of faults, and we may change or stop it. As it runs entirely on your device, a copy you have installed keeps working regardless.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.
Otherwise: we are not liable for missed appointments, lost earnings, or any other loss arising from oversleeping or from relying on BedDebt to wake you — it is not an alarm clock. We are not liable for money you choose to move to your own savings. Your legal rights as a consumer are unaffected.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
